People Analyst Intern

People Analyst Intern

Support the People Operations team by leveraging data to improve employee experience, performance, and organizational development. Collect, analyze, and report HR data to generate insights that inform decisions related to recruitment, engagement, retention, and workforce planning. Collaborate closely with the People Team, CEO, and department heads to build scalable systems and strategies that enhance company culture and drive business performance.


 

Internship Guidelines

  • This is an unpaid internship focused on skill-building and hands-on experience
  • Internship duration: 4 months, with the possibility of extension based on mutual interest, performance, and learning objectives.
  • Fall 2025 Semester: September–December
  • Part-Time: 10-15 hours per week


 

Tasks/Learning Objectives

  1. Data Collection & Analysis: Track and manage employee-related data across teams and functions
  2. Survey Development: Assist in designing and administering employee engagement and feedback surveys
  3. Onboarding Analysis: Evaluate onboarding experiences and suggest improvements
  4. Performance Management Support: Analyze peer review, goal-setting, and feedback data to recommend performance improvement strategies
  5. Talent Insights: Provide data-driven recommendations for recruiting strategies and workforce planning
  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate HR data documentation, including SOPs and policy updates
  7. Benchmarking: Conduct research on industry HR trends and best practices to keep processes competitive and compliant


 

Competencies

Knowledge:

  1. Core HR metrics such as retention rate, time-to-hire, employee engagement, and productivity
  2. People analytics tools and platforms (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau, HRIS systems)

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Working in a hybrid office environment
    • One day a week in the office (day TBD and based on interns’ schedules)
    • One Zoom meeting per week (time/day TBD and based on interns’ schedules)
  • Able to sit and perform computer works for prolonged periods
  • Minimal Physical Demands (Able to lift small items up to 20 lbs)


 

Required Education

  • High School Diploma
  • Working towards a college degree


 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Data Science, or a related field
  • Experience with Excel (pivot tables, functions) and/or Google Sheets
  • Familiarity with HR platforms or survey tools
  • Interest in organizational behavior, workforce analytics, or business strategy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

  • This position may be eligible for school credit through approved arrangements with your educational institution
