Private Equity Analyst Intern

The Opportunity: Private Equity Analyst Intern

Osprey Equity is a Connecticut-based private equity fund, focused on the lower middle market, comprised of former CEOs, investors and operating partners devoted to acquiring a company that we will operate going forward.  

Further detail can be found at www.ospreyequity.com.  We are recruiting part-time interns for the Fall ‘24 semester. We are looking for candidates who are interested in learning about new industries, business, and finance. The analyst will develop skills relevant to a future career in entrepreneurship, sales, private equity, and investment banking. The best candidates will be both analytically driven and very curious. 

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Identify and research attractive industries based on our investment criteria
  • Develop lists of potential acquisition targets and screen targets for outreach
  • Outreach to business owners and business brokers through targeted campaigns
  • Review and analyze confidential information provided by acquisition targets
  • Participate and take notes in phone calls with investors, investment bankers, and business owners

 

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to write concise, data-driven analyses. Your takeaways are pithy.
  • Search ninja. You can find the best resources quickly and find things most miss.
  • You can sell. Not literally - but if you routinely convince your friend group on what the next activity should be, you're persuasive and a good fit. 
  • (nice to have) Comfortable picking up the phone and speaking to anyone.

 

Scope:

  • Minimum of 10 hours per week (Fall Semester - Sept 9, 2024 to December 13th, 2024)
  • All remote work
  • The internship will be paid $15/hr. 
  • Please note, that you can expect to receive significant mentorship, as well as a wealth of interesting experiences that should serve you well in your career aspirations.   • Interns will work directly with Chris Kinner and his MBA graduate intern. 
    • Prior to founding Osprey Equity, Chris worked at a variety of companies including Wayfair, Axon, Dorel Sports, and Bridgewater Associates. He graduated from Harvard with a degree in cognitive neuroscience, and was the captain of his NCAA Division 1 alpine ski racing team.
    • His intern has founded two companies and currently runs an 8-figure supply chain globally for a start up in the manufacturing space.
