Construction Estimator/Management Intern
Lajeunesse Interiors is looking for an energetic, detailed person to Intern with our company to learn and evaluate the various procedures in our company from estimating to project management. We are interested in having this person come up with solutions to streamline these procedures.
If you are interested in experiencing the commercial construction industry, this internship would be a fantastic opportunity to gain hands on experience. Lajeunesse Interiors is a specialties contractor that sells and installs manufactured products such as bathroom partitions and accessories, lockers, operable walls, athletic equipment, window shades, wall protection, and fire protection to name a few. We work primarily in schools, hospitals, and industrial facilities.

This is a 40 hour per week Intern position with the opportunity to become a permanent employee of Lajeunesse Interiors. 

Essential Duties:
Ø Perform project take-offs from Architectural Plans and Specifications
Ø Develop estimates, obtain quotations, and manage correspondence for projects.
Ø Prepare and submit detailed Bid Proposals with project follow-up.
Ø Manage addendums to bid documents and prepare revisions and/or change orders.
Ø Manage incoming Bid Invitations and organize projects in relation to their due dates.
Ø Prepare product submittals after a contract has been approved.
Ø Review documentation procedures for managing jobs.
Ø Review progress billing procedures
Skills needed to be successful include:
Ø Proficient with Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel, Word. Knowledge of Bluebeam/Adobe
Ø Familiar with QuickBooks & Procore Construction software
Ø  Independent individuals with attention to detail is a must. 
Ø Good written communication skills
Ø Familiar with commercial specifications & plans
Ø Ability to think outside the box and bring new ideas to assist in streamlining processes.
Ø Ability to manage multiple projects.
This internship is funded in part by the Statewide Internship Project Pilot, a partnership between the UVM Office of Engagement and the Central Vermont Economic Development Corporation (CVEDC). Enrolled UVM students will be paid no less than $20/hour and will be part of a cohort of Central Vermont interns who will participate in paid, weekly professional development workshops hosted by UVM and CVEDC. This program is part of a consortium with MiddWorks, working on behalf of Vermont communities through building and supporting a vibrant talent pipeline.
