Corporate Strategy and Social Media Internship

Are you a cool human, who is passionate about and looking for an opportunity to learn more about how mindfulness, therapeutic animals and nature can create opportunities for healing on an emerging non-profit community wellness farm in Vermont? The Vermont Community Farm (VCF) is looking for a motivated and passionate intern to join our growing team of collaborators to expand our social media and online presence and conduct market research into other potential community partners in the realms of therapeutic practices involving nature, animals, and mindful practices, which include all creative and artistic endeavors. 

This is an exciting internship opportunity as VCF is in its initial start-up phase and looking to provide interns with opportunities to grow and expand the following skills and experiences in our expanding team: Community building, creating partnerships, collaborating with other visionaries and thought leaders, engaging in project management utilizing Trello, and building the foundation for our growing online presence on a website and social media platforms. We are looking for creative individuals to bring their unique perspectives to VCF to help create this community wellness farm vision with a strong and diverse foundation. 

Scope of Work:

·        Create and expand social media presence
·        Create written, image-based and video-based creative social content
·        Engage in community-building and collaboration with potential partners
·        Conduct market research and analysis to support VCF’s business plan

Skills:

·        Knowledge of social media platforms, specifically website-building, Instagram, and Facebook
·        Openness to learning new skills, gaining new experiences, and meeting new people
·        Communication and problem-solving skills
·        Attention to detail
·        An open mind, sense of humor and organization skills
·        Ability to work independently

Work Schedule:

Have the availability to work at least 200 hours total during the summer. Interns will work approximately 20 hours a week between 9AM and 5PM, Monday through Saturday. The dates for the internship must fall between May 30 and August 4. The schedule is flexible within these parameters. There will be consistent 3 times/weekly check-ins and support/collaboration with the Executive Director throughout this 10-week internship, May 30 – August 4, 2023.
 


This internship is funded in part by the Statewide Internship Project Pilot, a partnership between the UVM Office of Engagement and the Central Vermont Economic Development Corporation (CVEDC). Enrolled UVM students will be paid no less than $20/hour and will be part of a cohort of Central Vermont interns who will participate in paid, weekly professional development workshops hosted by UVM and CVEDC. This program is part of a consortium with MiddWorks, working on behalf of Vermont communities through building and supporting a vibrant talent pipeline.
