Wall Street Associate Broker / Pre-IPO Investment Intern

Forte Capital Group
Location: Financial District, New York City
Position Type: In-Person Internship
Compensation: Unpaid Internship with Potential Performance-Based Stipend
Career Track: Associate Broker / Registered Representative / Private Markets

About Forte Capital Group

Forte Capital Group is a Wall Street boutique broker-dealer located in the heart of New York City's Financial District. The firm provides financial professionals and clients access to a broad range of investment products, financial strategies, and capital-markets opportunities.

This internship is designed for ambitious individuals interested in developing a career in financial services, particularly in public equities, private markets, pre-IPO investments, capital raising, and brokerage.

Interns will work in a fast-paced Wall Street environment alongside experienced financial professionals while gaining practical exposure to the research, analytical, communication, and business-development skills used throughout the securities industry.

The Opportunity

The Wall Street Associate Broker / Pre-IPO Investment Internship is designed as an immersive introduction to the brokerage and investment industry.

The program is particularly well suited for students and recent graduates interested in eventually becoming registered financial professionals and developing expertise in both publicly traded securities and late-stage private companies.

Interns will gain exposure to how financial professionals research investment opportunities, evaluate companies, understand investor needs, communicate investment information, and develop relationships within the financial-services industry.

Qualified individuals who successfully complete the internship may be considered for future opportunities with the firm based on performance, business needs, licensing eligibility, and applicable regulatory requirements.

What You Will Learn

Throughout the internship, participants may gain exposure to:

Public Equity Research — Research publicly traded companies, industries, earnings, valuations, market trends, and investment themes.

Pre-IPO & Private Markets — Learn how late-stage private companies, venture-backed businesses, private placements, and pre-IPO investment opportunities are evaluated.

Capital Markets — Develop a stronger understanding of equity markets, IPOs, private capital formation, and the broader securities industry.

Security Analysis — Review company fundamentals, financial statements, valuation metrics, competitive positioning, and investment risks.

Portfolio Analysis — Learn how financial professionals evaluate investment portfolios, diversification, risk, and asset allocation.

Private Equity & Venture Capital — Gain exposure to private-company analysis, financing rounds, valuations, exit strategies, and fund structures.

Investment Funds — Develop an understanding of different fund structures, investment mandates, and fund dynamics.

Financial Planning — Gain exposure to the financial-planning process and how investments fit within a client's broader financial objectives.

Practice Management — Learn how successful financial professionals organize, develop, and manage their practices.

Business Development — Develop an understanding of prospect research, relationship development, professional networking, and client acquisition.

Communication & Presentation — Strengthen professional communication, presentation, and public-speaking skills.

Pre-IPO & Late-Stage Venture Capital Exposure

A significant component of the internship may involve researching the rapidly growing private-market ecosystem.

Interns may have opportunities to research late-stage venture-backed companies and develop investment presentations examining areas such as:

Company Overview → Industry → Business Model → Revenue Growth → Competitive Landscape → Funding History → Valuation → Comparable Companies → Investment Thesis → Risks → Potential Liquidity or Exit Opportunities

Interns may also gain exposure to the role financial professionals and placement agents can play in private-market transactions and late-stage venture capital funds, subject to applicable securities laws and firm supervision.

Associate Broker Career Track

For individuals interested in pursuing a career as a registered securities professional, the internship can provide exposure to the knowledge and professional skills relevant to that career path.

Individuals who are studying for or have successfully completed the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam are encouraged to apply.

Depending upon successful completion of the internship, performance, eligibility, firm needs, and applicable FINRA and regulatory requirements, qualified individuals may be considered for future employment opportunities.

Future opportunities for qualified candidates may include the possibility of:

Intern → Associate Broker/Trainee → Registered Representative → Financial Professional / Broker

Where appropriate and subject to firm approval and regulatory requirements, employment with the firm may provide an opportunity for eligible individuals to pursue registration examinations such as the Series 7 and applicable state securities examinations.

Passing the SIE or participating in the internship does not guarantee employment, registration, sponsorship, or eligibility to conduct securities activities.

Preparing company profiles and investment research presentations

Analyzing industries, competitors, valuations, and market opportunities

Researching late-stage venture-backed and pre-IPO companies

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for ambitious, disciplined, professional individuals who have a serious interest in building a career on Wall Street.

Strong candidates may demonstrate:

Compensation

Any future compensation associated with securities transactions would be available only to individuals who are appropriately registered, associated with the firm, and authorized to engage in those activities in accordance with applicable securities laws and firm policies.

Career Opportunity

For exceptional interns, this program may serve as an introduction to a longer-term career in financial services.

High-performing participants may be considered for future opportunities with Forte Capital Group, including potential roles involving public equities, private markets, investment research, business development, wealth management, or brokerage.

Successful candidates who ultimately become appropriately registered financial professionals may have the opportunity to develop their careers in an entrepreneurial environment with significant long-term income potential.

Why Forte Capital Group?

This is an opportunity to experience financial services from inside a Wall Street broker-dealer rather than exclusively through a classroom.

Interns will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, strengthen their understanding of public and private markets, develop professional communication skills, and gain exposure to the processes behind researching companies and investment opportunities.

Our office is located in the heart of New York City's Financial District, providing interns with an immersive, in-person Wall Street experience.

Interested candidates should submit a resume and a brief introduction describing their interest in the financial markets, brokerage, public equities, or pre-IPO/private-market investing.
