Engineering Data Analyst (Intern)
As a Data Analyst within our Engineering team, you will play a critical role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making and optimize our packaging solutions. You will be a key collaborator with engineers, design teams, and business leaders, providing data-driven solutions to complex challenges across the entire packaging lifecycle.
DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Acquisition & Management:
- Design and implement efficient data collection processes from various engineering and manufacturing sources (sensors, machines, ERP systems).
- Ensure data quality and integrity through data cleaning, validation, and standardization.
- Manage and maintain data warehouses and infrastructure for analysis.
Data Analysis & Modeling:
- Perform in-depth analysis of operational data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement statistical models to predict performance, optimize processes, and reduce costs.
- Create compelling visualizations and reports to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Partner closely with engineers, designers, and business leaders to translate data into actionable solutions.
- Present findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to senior management.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging trends and technologies in data analytics and packaging engineering.
- Develop and maintain training and communication content to transfer knowledge to technical community.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Working towards an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in data analysis, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment (preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PPT, database tools, PowerBI, PowerApp
- Strong knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques (SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI).
- Working knowledge of SAP data extraction, transfer and integration in to supporting software systems for analysis and reporting.
Skills
- Ability to transform data into presentable charts, analysis for key business case proposals.
- Ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven atmosphere.
- Ability to learn new systems and software to support data tracking and reporting.
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized.
- Good attitude and work ethic with high personal and professional standards.
- Should be analytical thinker, who is comfortable working with large data sets and doing complex analysis, and most importantly converting results into charts/formats to support business decisions.
- Strong communication skills that allow clear and objective reporting. Fluency in English (other languages is a plus).
