Region Market Development Intern

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Region Market Development (RMD) team at Mercer. This team plays a critical role in supporting Mercer’s sales professionals, client relationship managers, and consultants by driving client engagement and ensuring seamless communication across business lines.  As part of this team, you will gain hands-on experience in growth operations across our practices, contributing to innovative solutions that drive client and business success.

We will count on you to:

  • Conduct research on client companies using both external sources and Mercer’s internal data.
  • Assist in writing and structuring internal communications, such as reports, spreadsheets, presentations, colleague messages and ad-hoc strategic initiatives.
  • Support the sales process by maintaining cross line of business communication and updating the client relationship management system with new opportunities and activities.
  • Provide analytical support on sales, revenue, and pipeline-related projects.
  • Utilize CRM and sales tools such as Microsoft Dynamics, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, MiEdge, and Factiva to maintain pipeline hygiene and conduct research.
  • Help plan and execute marketing initiatives and client/prospect events, including lead qualifications and contact list management.

What you need to have:

  • Progress towards a bachelor’s degree in PR, communications, marketing, business, management, or related fields.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Other experience using Customer Relationship Management systems like Salesforce is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment with changing priorities.
  • Intellectual curiosity paired with strong business acumen.
  • Candidates graduating from a local college and/or currently reside in the Metro-NY Tri-State area are preferred.
