
Summer Intern - Global Technology, Risk & Security
At RGA, we're seeking summer interns for the Global Technology department. There are several opportunities to learn and begin working side-by-side with technology teams spanning software development, cloud services, cybersecurity, infrastructure, information management, data analytics, technology strategy, and project management.
Under direct supervision, monitors, evaluates, and makes recommendations regarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of global systems to provide assurances that systems and data are properly safeguarded.
Participants can expect:
- 10-week paid summer internship aimed at helping to explore the technology field
- Impactful and relevant projects that align and support RGA's strategic business initiatives
- Networking opportunities with key stakeholders and senior leadership
- Group activities with the fellow cohort, including social and volunteer events based out of our Global Headquarters in Chesterfield, Missouri.
What you will do
- Collaborate with compliance, security and technology professionals on projects related to compliance with laws, rules, and regulations.
- Assist in developing and administering security training and awareness campaigns for various groups within the company. Provide input to improve processes to mitigate risk, meet business obligations, and regulatory requirements.
- Assists in managing incoming assessments, facilitating discussions with appropriate owners and business stakeholders, and follows up on any remediation activities identified to meet associated due dates to ensure timely completion.
- Participates in the development of policies, standards, controls, procedures, and security assessments.
- The scope of routine activities and tasks in this role will be in support of one or more functional areas, the department, or division.
Qualifications
- Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, ideally in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, or other data or technology-related majors)
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA; additional requirements may apply
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Eagerness to learn new skills and technologies
- Ability to provide information in a clear, concise manner
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships
- Effective analytical skills to gather information, analyze facts, and draw conclusions
- Knowledge of IT security, audit, controls, and regulatory compliance, or related experience. required
- Basic knowledge of global standards and regulations regarding security, technology, and resilience. Knowledge of applicable regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley, GLBA, EU DORA, etc. Willingness to learn and stay current on data security threats and vulnerabilities.
