Risk Advisory & Compliance Intern - 2026

Moss Adams (now Baker Tilly) is currently seeking Risk Advisory & Compliance Interns for 2026. 

Our interns gain knowledge of the firm's Risk Advisory and Compliance (RAC) practice through working with multiple clients across a variety of industries.

As a Risk Assurance and Compliance intern, you can choose to work in one of the following practice areas:

  • IT Assurance Interns participate in pre-audit planning for engagements, conduct interviews and review documentation of client IT and operating procedures, perform internal control and IT test work, and prepare supporting work paper documentation. 
  • SOC Compliance Interns participate in SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC 3 examinations, as well as consulting services for SOC examinations. You may also gain knowledge of the firm's assurance and consulting services, in addition to assisting project managers, clients and peers on various consulting and auditing engagements.

In addition to the CPA, these team members may be asked to work toward the CIA, CMA or CISA.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire. Moss Adams (now Baker Tilly) will not consider candidates for this position who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., H-1B, STEM OPT)
  • Must have completed or be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program, with a preference for accounting majors
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to a Moss Adams (now Baker Tilly) office and be willing to work on-site
  • Eligible candidates must have academic courses remaining at the end of the internship. Candidates in year three of a 4-year degree program, or in year four of a 5-year program, preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Major in Accounting or coursework in technology-related fields highly desirable
  • If an accounting major; meeting the educational requirements to obtain CPA license upon full-time Staff hire, preferred
  • Willingness to travel to client locations, including overnights stays, with travel expectations varying by department and office location
  • Flexibility to work overtime or additional hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Excellent customer service skills; Ability to understand own and others' emotions in order to achieve desired goals
  • Creative problem solving, critical thinking and research skills; Organize information and exercise well-reasoned judgment
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Demonstrate confidence in decision making and poise in professional setting
  • Work effectively both as part of a team and independently
  • Highly motivated and embrace challenges as opportunities to grow
  • Quickly adapt to a changing work environment, including the use of software, systems and technology
  • Outstanding organization and project management skills; Take responsibility for quality and timeliness of projects
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

This is the typical range of pay for the position.  Actual compensation may depend on factors such as qualifications, work experience, skills, and geographic location.  Compensation Range: Washington State: $33.50/hr - $35.50/hr California: $36/hr - $46/hr
